ABOUT THE COURSE

IPR (Intellectual Property Rights) training programs equip individuals with knowledge and skills to understand and manage intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and designs. These programs are beneficial for various professionals, including business owners, technology company team members, and those seeking careers in IP law.Courses designed to prepare individuals for careers in IP law or as Patent Analyst/ Patent.

The Certificate Course/Training has the following objectives:

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

1. To provide hands-on instruction in Patent search, Drafting and filing.
2. To guide students for IPR maintenance
3. To provide hands-on instruction on recent technologies.
4. The certificate course will help students/professionals to be able to understand different types of Intellectual Properties (IPs), ownership rights, scope of protection under different forms of IP, make aware about laws in India in this regard.
5. To explain comprehending basics issues of all IP laws including patents, design and copyrights.
6. To encourage graduates/ Faculties/ Researchers in IPR filing and Protection of their IPRs.

COURSE OUTCOMES:

1. Students will be able to understand about IPRs.
2. The students will be able to describe the method of Patent search.
3. They can apply the knowledge for their self-employment or can start their own start-up.
4. The student will be able to find jobs in IPR sector.
5. Successful completion of the course will make student/professional to be able to recognize the importance and role of IP in organizations of different sectors of economy and industry.
6. Students to develop skills to start their carrier in Law Firms, Research,Organizations, academic institutions, R&D units of companies, Industries (pharma, chemicals, healthcare, biotech, software and ICT etc.), consultancy firms and can work as docking officer/IPR expert/patent agents etc.
7. Students will learn how to use various databases.
8. After finishing the certificate course, students would have information of various approaches of IPRs.

Please note: Students who perform well during the course will be given an opportunity to work on real cases and internship in IPR cell and get IPR cell’s Assistance in IPR filing. The session incudes Lectures and hand on training.

The Patent Training course will be completed in two Major Module:

6. Case Studies
7. Future in IPRs


Total 14 + hours for 7 days/ 120 hours for 1 month (lectures + Practical demonstration) Certificate will be issued by SVSU.

Course Content:

Introduction to IPR
What are IPRs, why they are important, and different types of IPR. Patent Law: Understanding patents, patent applications, and patent infringement, Understanding patent system in India and patenting abroad.

Patent Search, Drafting and Filing
Patentability Search (Novelty search), Protecting through all form of IPR and technology domain specificity, Preparation of Complete specification, Patent Filing procedure till Grant

Advance IPR Training Couse/Internship (3 Month Duration): Key Topics in Advance Course:

Module 1: Introduction to IPR: 20 Hours
  What are IPRs, why they are important, and different types of IPR. Patent Law: Understanding patents, patent applications, and patent infringement, Understanding patent system in India and patenting abroad.  
Module 2: Patent Search, Drafting and Filing 25 Hours
  Patentability Search (Novelty search), Protecting through all form of IPR and technology domain specificity, Preparation of Complete specification, Patent Filing procedure till Grant.  
Module 3: Industrial Design Filing 15 Hours
  Introduction to Industrial Design and its principles, Preparation of Design Forms, Grant of Design  
Module 4: Copyright & its principles 15 Hours
  Introduction to Copyright and its Principles, Registration of Copyright, Elements of Copyright Infringement, Understanding copyright, infringement, and fair use.  
Module 5: Trademark & its principles 15 Hours
  Introduction to the Trademark Act, Trademark Registration Procedures  
Module 6: IPR Valuation and Licensing 15 Hours
  IPR Valuation and Licensing: Evaluating the value of IPR assets and licensing strategies.  
Module 7: Legal Aspects of IPR: 15 Hours
  Legal Aspects of IPR: Understanding legal frameworks and procedures related to IPR.
